Getting help can be hard. The Counseling Center at NC State is here to make it easier. Our diverse staff is trained to address problems common on college campuses, from social anxiety to depression to academic performance issues. The Counseling Center can be reached 24 hours a day at 919.515.2423.

  • College students often discuss their personal and emotional concerns with family, friends, or professors. This means that you are in a unique position to help students and their peers find support when they need it. A key part of that is talking openly about mental health issues.

    You can play a crucial role in suicide prevention on campus by recognizing warning signs and helping students get the support they need.

National Alliance on Mental Illness – North Carolina

The mission of NAMI North Carolina is to provide support, education, advocacy, and public awareness so that all affected by mental illness can build better lives. NC State has a chapter of NAMI on campus.

NC State Cares

NC State Cares works collaboratively with campus resources to provide support for students who are in crisis or who are identified as exhibiting concerning or worrisome behaviors. Case managers ensure that the community at large remains safe while the student involved gains the necessary resources to remain successful academically and personally at NC State.
